Der Sound vom oktaJon hat mich echt positiv überrascht. Das Design, die Form und die Verarbeitung geben dem Instrument eine sehr individuelle Note mit viele Liebe zum Detail und das Sitzkissen ermöglich ein super bequemes Sitzen. Die hohen und tiefen Sound`s sind klar voneinander getrennt, was bei einer so großen Spielfläche nicht so einfach ist. Die hohen Sound`s sprechen sehr einfach an und sind knackig. Der Bass klingt sauber und tief, sowohl vorne als auch hinten. Genau die Charakteristik, die man sich wünscht. In den ersten Tagen mußte ich vor allem die Spieltechnik der "DoubleStrokes" an die neue, ungewohnte Form des Istrument´s anpassen. Nach ein paar Stunden war das aber kein Problem mehr. Auch der Einsatz der Fußmaschine funktionierte überraschend gut und öffnet völlig neue Spielweisen, vor allem durch die Soundvariationen von Back- und Front-Side. Insgesamt top Sound und Qualität. Ich freue mich schon auf den ersten Einsatz nach Corona.Im Studio gehört sie schon zum Programm.
The sound of the oktaJon really surprised me positively. The design, the shape and the workmanship give the instrument a very individual note with great attention to detail and the seat cushion allows you to sit comfortably. The high and low sounds are clearly separated from each other, which is not so easy with such a large playing area. The high sounds respond very easily and are crisp. The bass sounds clean and deep, both front and rear. Exactly the characteristic that you want. In the first few days I mainly had to adapt the game technology of the "DoubleStrokes" to the new, unfamiliar form of the instrument. But after a few hours that was no longer a problem. The use of the foot pedal also worked surprisingly well and opens up completely new ways of playing, especially through the sound variations on the back and front side. Overall great sound and quality. I'm already looking forward to my first assignment after Corona - it's already part of the program in the studio.

Gerade bei lockeren Unplugged-Aufnahmen spiegelt die tolle Kiste alles genauso wieder, wie du sie beschrieben hast. Die Musiker sind begeistert von Sound und Einsatzmöglichkeit. Und die Drummer freuen sich, auch ihre Füße im Einsatz halten zu können. Wum Wum.

Es war für mich eine Ehre und eine tolle Erfahrung, die oktaJon zu deinem 1. Video einspielen zu dürfen.Sound und Qualität lassen keine Wünsche übrig. Auf zahlreichen Konzerten habe ich die oktaJon zwichenzeitlich gespielt und bin immer wieder begeistert darüber, was insbesondere mit passender Mikrofonierung aus dieser Wunderkiste alles herauszuholen ist, egal ob mit der Hand oder entsprechendem Werkzeug gespielt. Besonder bei meinem Unplugged-Trio its es die reinste Wundertüte.
It was an honor and a great experience for me to be able to play the oktaJon for your first video. Sound and quality leave nothing to be desired. In the meantime I have played the oktaJon at numerous concerts and am always enthusiastic about what can be got out of this wonder box, especially with the right miking, whether played with the hand or with the appropriate tools. Especially with my unplugged trio it is the purest surprise bag.

Das SoundCorner oktaJon ist ein Basscajon mit viel Hubraum. Doch neben dem fulminanten Bass liefert es auch sensibel ansprechende und gut projizierende Snare und Tom - sounds sowie auf der Rückseite eine bunte Palette an holzigen Percussionklängen, die sich kreativ einsetzen lassen. In sehr leisen musikalischen Situationen trägt es mitunter etwas zu dick auf und muss eventuell mittels Dämpfung gezügelt werden. Mit der rückseitigen Bedienung durch eine Fußmaschine (kann, muß aber nicht) wird dieses Instrument einzigartig. Vorne Cajon, hinten Bass-Drum) Die Mikrofonierung ist wegen des bodennahen Schalllochs etwas eingeschränkt, wenn auch nicht unmöglich. Freunde eines kräftigen Basstons kommen mit dieser hochwertig verarbeiteten, achteckigen Kiste voll auf ihre Kosten.
The SoundCorner oktaJon is a bass cajon with a large displacement. Seit geraumer Zeit bin auch ich Besitzer von 2 oktaJon und ich muss ehrlich gestehen, für mich als Drummer, Percussionist und Cajonist ist sie eine Cajon, vielseitig wie ein Schweizer Taschenmesser. Nicht nur die auf der Front 3 leicht anspielbaren Snare-Varianten, sondern auch die tiefen Tom - Klänge bis hin zum absolut fetten „Brontosaurus-Rex-Oktajonsubbasssound“ in der Mitte dieser 8eckigen Kiste, der nur noch mittels Kickpedal auf der Rückseite übertroffen wird, nötigen einen zum unbedingten Weiterspielen, hat man erst einmal damit begonnen. Das Schweizer Messer öffnet sich weiter, dreht man die Kiste um. Wie schon gesagt, spielt sich der fette Bass auf dieser Seite auch mittels Kickpedal. Spannend dazu sind dann auch die Variationen der unterschiedlichen Conga-Sound`s. Drum-Cajon wäre auch ein toller Name für die oktaJon, die ich absolut empfehlen kann. Das Spielen auf dieser „Made in Germany“ Kiste muss man allerdings erlernen um dann den Sound perfekt erleben zu können. Qualität und Leistung überzeugen.

For some time now I've also been from 2 oktaJon and I have to honestly admit that for me as a drummer, percussionist and cajonist it is a cajon, steerable like a Swiss Army knife. Not only the 3 easily playable snare differences on the front, but also the last tom sounds up to the absolute fat "Brontosaurus-Rex-Oktajonsubasssound" in the middle of this octagonal box, which is only opened with the kick pedal on the following right, require you to continue playing unconditionally. The Swiss knife is still there if you turn the box over. As already said, the fat bass is also played with a kick pedal. The variations of the different conga sounds are also exciting. Drum Cajon also became a great name for the oktaJon, which I can absolutely hear. However, you have to learn to play on this “Made in Germany” box in order to be able to experience the sound perfectly. Quality and performance are top.

Meine Skepsis legte sich nach dem 1. Kontakt zur oktaJon. Mehr als ich erwartet habe kam aus dieser achteckigen Wunderkiste. Ich denke mal, dass insbesondere meine vielen Auftritte im Flamencobereich durch die oktaJon eine tolle Aufwertung sowohl an Klangvielfalt als auch im Sound erreichen werden.
My skepticism subsided after the first contact with oktaJon. More than I expected came out of this octagonal wonder box. I think that in particular my many performances in the flamenco area will achieve a great appreciation in terms of sound variety and sound thanks to the oktaJon.

Tourneen führten ihn nach England, Frankreich, Österreich, in die Schweiz und nach Israel. Seit 1982 spielt er bei September, zudem ist er u.a. mit Asamblea Mediterranea, Euroblue und Zwischenwelten aktiv. Er betreibt eine Musikschule und ist Autor verschiedener Perkussions-Lehrbücher.
